Q: What Operating System and Browsers does AllWebID currently support?
A: AllWebID works with 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 (Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, Enterprise) and Windows XP. It currently supports Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers.
Please ensure that you have Microsoft Windows .Net framework installed on your computer. You can check the .Net upgrades by using the Windows Update option from the Windows Control Panel. AllWebID also installs the .Net framework during the application installation process.
Q: What fingerprint sensors are currently supported by AllWebID?
A: AllWebID works with several fingerprint sensors including:
- Embedded sensors manufactured by Validity (VFS201, VFS301), and by UPEK. These are mostly embedded in selected laptops from HP, Lenovo (ThinkPad Edge E40, E50, X220), and Panasonic (Toughbook CF-C1, S9) laptops.
- USB sensors manufactured by UPEK (Eikon, Eikon Solo, Eikon To Go, Eikon Touch 300, Eikon Touch 500, Eikon Touch 700), and by Digital Persona (U.are.U 4500, U.are.U 4000).
Q: How secure is my AllWebID data?
A: There are 3 key elements that should be secured for every website and cloud based service - User Access/Login, Data Transmission, and Data Storage. AllWebID uses the best techniques and the highest industry standards to address the security of all these elements.
- User Access: AllWebID is the only password management service that requires 2-Step identity verification based login for all its users. The 2-Step verification is the most secure means of web login, and practically eliminates the risk of fraudulent login activities.
- Data Transmission: AllWebID uses 256-bit SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol for encrypted data transmission. This is the same standard that is used by all major financial and e-commerce websites.
- Data Storage: AllWebID uses state of the art military-level AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) with 256-bit encryption keys for data storage.
We take the security and the safety of your data very seriously. Our dedicated security team makes sure that AllWebID remains secure all the time, so you can access, and manage your data with confidence.
- Secure data center: Your data is stored on enterprise-grade servers that undergo regular audits and are monitored 24/7 for optimal performance.
- Redundancy: Regular data backups to eliminate the risk of data loss.
Q: Do I need to manually synchronize my saved profiles between different computers when using AllWebID on more than one computer?
A: There is no need to manually sync your saved profiles. Your profile details are securely stored on AllWebID servers that seamlessly provide you the data whenever you use AllWebID on any computer. You never need to worry about losing your AllWebID data even if your computer gets damaged or stolen.
Q: Why can I not save login details for some website?
A: The website developers use various techniques to develop a website. Some of the less traditional or proprietary techniques might prevent AllWebID from automatically saving a Login item. For example, currently there is no browser password manager that supports Flash-based logins, because the proprietary Flash technology is not easily integrated with browsers. For a Flash-based website, you may able to find a standard HTML login page, which would then work with AllWebID.
